Exploring potential trade-up targets for the Jacksonville Jaguars in the 2020 NFL Draft.

The Jacksonville Jaguars offseason to date certainly doesn’t suggest that they’re in win-now mode. They traded A.J. Bouye to the Broncos earlier in the offseason and traded Calais Campbell to the Ravens.

Fortunately for them, they’ve set themselves up pretty well for a rebuild. They’ll have two first-round picks in the next two drafts thanks to the Jalen Ramsey trade with the Rams. Also, last year they found a potential franchise quarterback in sixth-round pick Gardner Minshew. I wouldn’t say he’s a sure thing by any means, but he was a pleasant surprise for the Jacksonville Jaguars last season.

Next season should give the Jaguars an idea of whether they can rely on Minshew to be the quarterback of the future or if they should go another route, but with Minshew already on the roster and next year’s quarterback class already looking pretty, this isn’t the time for them to go all-in and trade up for a quarterback. With this in mind, I am sticking to trade targets that can help them build in other positions.

With 12 picks in the 2020 NFL Draft and an extra first and fourth-rounder for next year, they certainly have the draft capital to trade up and secure a prospect they really like. A trade isn’t likely to actually happen, but all of these are potential options that the Jaguars should at least consider. All of these trades are meant to secure prospects at positions of need from an offseason team needs article which I posted a month ago.
