2020 NFL Draft: Chicago Bears potential trade-up targets
The Chicago Bears are looking for another outside corner opposite Pro Bowler Kyle Fuller. They released veteran Prince Amukamara this offseason, creating a void on their defense. In free agency, they signed former Pittsburgh Steelers first-round pick Artie Burns to a one-year prove-it deal.
They are also rumored to be meeting with LSU corner Kristian Fulton before the 2020 NFL Draft. If these rumors hold true and they value the position enough, then a trade-up could occur.
Fulton, who’s seen his stock fall in recent months due to concerns of off-the-field issues in addition to some inconsistent moments in coverage. Despite this, Fulton still could offer the Chicago Bears quite a bit as a player. He shows the ability to transition fairly well with oily hips, he plays his best football in heavy press man situations.
The Chicago Bears pick at 43 and 50 respectively in the second of the 2020 NFL Draft. While they may not have to trade up at all if he falls to the 40s, the Jacksonville Jaguars, who are in the market for a corner, pick ahead of them at 42. In that scenario, they could move pick 43, a day three pick and potentially a 2021 pick.
