Round 2

Colorado. Laviska Shenault. 34. 46. Scouting Report. WR. player. Pick Analysis

Projected Starters: T.Y Hilton, Zach Pascal, Paris Campbell

The Colts wide receiver room needs a rehaul, and this is the kind of player you start that changing of the guard with. Laviska Shenault is an absolute monster on the outside thanks to his ungodly strength for the wide receiver position.

His route running is superb, and he gets incredible release because of it. Shenault just offers a perfect balance of speed and strength and will be a problem in the league. He easily has a first-round grade but will probably go later due to some recent injuries. Indy was at the bottom five of virtually every single receiving category, and Shenault would offer immediate help while being an amazing piece for the future, notably creating a dangerous duo with the next draft pick.

Scouting Report. QB. 44. player. Pick Analysis. Washington. Jacob Eason. 46

Projected Starter: Philip Rivers

Here is the future of the Indianapolis Colts. I wrote an entire article on why the Colts need to select Jacob Eason, and I make that a reality here.

Eason is a project, but the personnel in Indianapolis will be able to turn that project into a masterpiece. The fact he can sit behind one of the most decorated quarterbacks of all time is extremely beneficial, and Frank Reich has shown throughout his coaching career he excels at developing young talent. Eason has a cannon and great mechanics, and with some seasoning has all the tools to be an elite NFL quarterback.

Although guys like Tua Tagoviloa and Jordan Love are getting much more pre-draft hype, this again will only benefit the Colts. He doesn’t need to be trusted into the starting role like Tua or have the bust potential of Love, making him a great middle-ground prospect. He is QB4 on my board with massive upside, and this is the guy who should take the reigns from Philip Rivers after the 2020 season.

Round 3

CB. Virginia. Pick Analysis. 75. player. 46. Scouting Report. Bryce Hall

Projected Starters: Xavier Rhodes, T.J Carrie, Kenny Moore II, Rock Ya-Sin

Even with the Colts just signing Xavier Rhodes, that doesn’t fix their seemingly mediocre corner room. I was not a fan of the Rock Ya-Sin selection last season, and he struggled mightily his rookie season. It’s not time to give up on him yet, but they need to clearly add to the corner room. Insert Virginia corner, Bryce Hall.

Hall is an excellent zone corner, and being that the team runs a lot of Cover 2 looks, he should fit in nicely. He has a great technique that he shows confidence in on the field, which is an excellent trait to have as a young corner. His competitiveness and confidence allow him to vie for a starting spot immediately and could make a large impact as a rookie.
