After trading their first-round pick for Stefon Diggs, we complete a seven-round mock draft, taking a look at how things may play out for the Buffalo Bills.

For the majority of the offseason leading up to free agency and towards the 2020 NFL Draft, nearly every mock draft that was completed for the Buffalo Bills had them taking a wide receiver in the first round.

What did the Buffalo Bills ultimately do with the 22nd overall pick in the 2020 NFL Draft? They, indeed, went out and got themselves a receiver. One of the best route runners in the NFL, in fact. In exchange for the 22nd overall pick, a 2020 fifth, 2020 sixth and a 2021 fourth-round pick, the Bills received Stefon Diggs and a 2020 seventh-round pick from the Minnesota Vikings.

While the 2020 NFL Draft wide receiver class is one of the deepest and most talented classes that we have seen in recent history, it’s a pretty good bet that the proven commodity of Stefon Diggs is a better player, especially at this point, than anyone that would have been available at No. 22.

Now without a first-round pick and with a pretty solid and well-rounded roster, the Buffalo Bills can focus on adding depth and making some luxury picks throughout the remainder of the 2020 NFL Draft.

While there really aren’t many glaring needs on the Bills roster currently, they could certainly add some talent and depth at multiple spots on both sides of the ball. Depth on the offensive line, a couple more talented offensive weapons, and youth and potential on the defensive side of the ball are all viable options for GM Brandon Beane and the Buffalo Bills front office in the 2020 NFL Draft.
