Scouting Report. S. Alabama. 20. 52. Pick Analysis. Xavier McKinney. player

After adding Kristian Fulton just a couple of picks ago, the Jaguars snag another stud for their new-look defensive backfield with Alabama’s Swiss Army Knife Xavier McKinney.

Although McKinney may not be the best free safety type in the 2020 NFL Draft, he’s a matchup player who can play strong safety, dime linebacker, nickel cornerback, he can blitz, he can cover man-to-man, and he can attack the football in zone looks.

McKinney is a tremendous all-around football player who was voted a team captain by his peers at Alabama in 2019.

Over the past couple of seasons, McKinney’s production spoke for itself. He racked up 175 tackles with just two seasons as a starter as well as 15 pass deflections, five interceptions, six sacks, 11.5 tackles for loss, and six forced fumbles.

He makes plays all over the field and can really impact games from a variety of positions.

Having McKinney, Kristian Fulton, and Josh Allen on the same roster would make a lot of SEC coaches jealous.
