Top team needs for Miami Dolphins in the 2020 NFL Draft
Offensive Tackle
Offensive tackle is the other top need for the Miami Dolphins. If a quarterback is indeed the pick at five, addressing the offensive line needs to be a priority in the next five selections.
The good news is that the tackle class looks very strong in the 2020 NFL Draft. There’s definitely a “big four” at the position, and all are expected to come off the board early.
Alabama’s Jedrick Wills is who most analysts have as the top tackle. His power at the point of attack and his ability to recover with quickness in pass protection is a big reason why. Iowa’s Tristan Wirfs dominated at the scouting combine and has experience playing both left and right tackle for the Hawkeyes.
Andrew Thomas is getting overlooked a bit at the moment, but he’s so refined in his technique and has excelled against top pass rushers in the SEC. Louisville’s Mekhi Becton is all power and has pretty good mobility for 364 pounds.
It’s very possible that the Dolphins will need to trade up to get one of the top four, and they have the ammo to do so. Ereck Flowers should play guard, and having Julie’n Davenport and Jesse Davis is nowhere near good enough.
