2020 NFL Draft: Five trade-up targets for the Tennessee Titans
Honorable mention: Jeff Gladney, TCU, Round 1
Yet another player that may be out the door for the Tennessee Titans defense is outstanding slot corner, Logan Ryan. Ryan has been one of the most productive players on the Titans defense since coming over from the Patriots and has solidified himself has one of the best nickel corners in the league.
Now, Ryan is allegedly still in contact with the Titans, as he surprisingly has not been signed yet in free agency. If he does return, corner would not be a big need for Tennessee. With Malcolm Butler and Adoree’ Jackson in the fold, combined with safeties Kevin Byard and Kenny Vaccaro, the Tennessee Titans have one of the best overall secondaries in the NFL.
But if Ryan does walk, it would be important for the team to fill that void in some way. Whether it is bringing in someone to play in the slot or moving an existing player to the position and drafting to fill that void, the Titans would definitely benefit from adding another corner.
Noah Igbinoghene from Auburn is a very versatile corner who could fill either role at the next level. If they want to keep him as a slot/nickel corner, he has the frame, toughness and athleticism to hold his own in run support and against shifty slot receivers. On the outside, he is very effective in press coverage and physical throughout the route with some of the biggest and best receivers in the SEC.
Honorable mention Jeff Gladney from TCU is another great target at corner. He is a player that was once in the same conversation as Igbinoghene in the second round range but has risen into the conversation as the second-best corner in the draft. Mocked to the Minnesota Vikings with either one of their two first-round picks, so Tennessee may need to move towards the top 20 if they want to lock up a player like Jeff Gladney in the 2020 NFL Draft.
