John Elway went on a bit of a spending spree during the first weeks of free agency. Find out how he should accompany the recent free agent signings with this no-trade, seven-round NFL mock draft for the Denver Broncos.

To say the Denver Broncos had an active offseason would be an understatement. The team took advantage of their high 2020 cap space and splurged on both sides of the ball.

John Elway kicked off the frenzy by trading with the Jaguars for standout cornerback A.J. Bouye. This move ended up being a replacement ordeal for current cornerback Chris Harris Jr., who signed with the Los Angeles Chargers shorty after. Things didn’t stop there as they brought in interior offensive lineman Graham Glasgow, interior defensive lineman Jurrell Casey and star running back Melvin Gordon.

For the offense, Drew Lock has been passed the torch with optimism after the release of quarterback Joe Flacco. Courtland Sutton has quickly shaped himself into a true number one wide receiver and the protection is bound to improve up front with Ja’Wuan James returning from injury. The pairing of Melvin Gordon and Phillip Lindsay will create a nice one-two punch in the backfield.

On the defense, Bradley Chubb is expected to come back healthy in time and the resigning of Shelby Harris and Mike Purcell adds reliable depth to the trenches with Derek Wolfe now gone. In terms of the secondary, Justin Simmons got hit with the franchise tag and will aspire for another dominating season alongside Kareem Jackson and newcomer A.J. Bouye. This defensive back group has the potential to establish themselves as one of the best in the league next year.

Overall, you can honestly say with confidence that the future is looking bright for the Denver Broncos. This team making the playoffs no longer remains a pipe dream. It’s unfortunate to see some longtime veterans go, but I’m liking this new-look roster even better. The rebuild is rightfully coming along.

With ten picks in the 2020 NFL Draft, the Denver Broncos will spend about half of their $21M in current cap for the rookie pool. The team should carry the rest into the future. Meaning their attention is fixating to the 2020 NFL Draft. Let’s see how they attack it in this mock.
