Free agency has winded down a bit, but there are still some names out there. Jadeveon Clowney has yet to sign, and there are still quarterbacks available if some teams want to pounce. However, with the 2020 NFL Draft just over three weeks away, it’s time to finalize needs and get those mock drafts humming. Here on the podcast, that’s exactly what we’re doing! It’s still division-by-division as we go along, and this episode features the NFC East. Here, the teams are split up. Jake took the Giants and Eagles while Nate selected the Redskins and Cowboys.

Note: This mock was completed using NFL Mock Draft Database’s mock draft simulator.

The NFC East feels pretty set at quarterback all around, despite rumors swirling around the Washington Redskins and how they feel about Dwayne Haskins, who was a first-round pick in 2019. A lot of focus was on defense for these teams early and often in this mock.

Washington came out firing with Chase Young at number two overall, a player that Nate (and most draft analysts) believes is the best in the class. With Young, Da’Ron Payne, Jonathan Allen, and Montez Sweat, Ron Rivera has a great defensive line to work with in 2020.

The Giants are up next on the board, and go a little off-book in terms of what’s projected, taking Alabama tackle Jedrick Wills. Wills is a fantastic pass protector with great footwork and quickness to recover.

Dallas is up next, and select an edge rusher to play opposite DeMarcus Lawrence. K’Lavon Chaisson has the bend, athleticism, and three-down ability to be effective in the NFL.

Philadelphia was next, and the LSU flavor in this mock continued. Justin Jefferson came off the board here, and his abilities as a route runner and reliability in contested spots would make him a great pick to help out Carson Wentz.
