Interior Defensive Line

Grady Jarrett is one of the league’s best interior pass-rushers. The Atlanta Falcons should target a compliment piece to Jarrett on the interior of the defensive line. They should prioritize a big-bodied run-stuffing mold. They have good depth at the position heading into 2020 with Deadrin Senat and Allen Bailey. The Atlanta Falcons, however, need a starting-caliber contributor at that position.

Atlanta can head in a number of directions with this need. If Javon Kinlaw is available at 16 overall, that could be an excellent selection. He has all the tools to be one of the best interior pass-rushers in the NFL. The Atlanta Falcons have the 47th overall selection and could find value with their second-round selection. If Ross Blacklock or Justin Madubuike were available with that selection, that could be an excellent pick who could make a big contribution early.

A third-round target, and maybe my favorite potential value and fit, Leki Fotu could fill that big-bodied role that the Atlanta Falcons are missing. At 330 pounds, Fotu can fill gaps better than any defensive lineman that could be around late on day two of the 2020 NFL Draft. This is one of the few needs the Atlanta Falcons did not address during the free agency period. This solidifies that this is a position the Falcons feel comfortable addressing in the draft.
