Cornerback

Cornerback has been a need for this Atlanta Falcons team for a while now. They have brought in middle-round guys every couple of years, but they have yet to find a permanent outside starter opposite of Desmond Trufant. In the 2018 NFL Draft, the Atlanta Falcons brought in Isaiah Oliver to eventually take on that role. After a couple of average starter seasons, Oliver is now the number one guy on the depth chart.

Behind Oliver, the Falcons’ lack of depth at the position is concerning too. Kendall Sheffield and Blidi Wreh-Wilson highlight the remaining cornerbacks on the roster. As of right now, this is one of the worst groups for the position in the NFL. Cornerback should be targeted early and potentially multiple times for this Atlanta Falcons front office.

Thomas Dimitrioff should target one of the top cornerback prospects in the first round of the 2020 NFL Draft. The top guys in this group are fairly clear to me: Jeffrey Okudah, Jeff Gladney, C.J. Henderson, and Kristian Fulton.

If the Falcons were to take any of these guys at No. 16 overall, I would say that the first round would be a success. This team desperately needs the number one guy, especially in the NFC South where they have to go up against Michael Thomas, Mike Evans, and Chris Godwin twice a year each.
