Wide Receiver/Tight End

The Tennessee Titans found an outstanding wide receiver in the draft a year ago, tabbing A.J. Brown with a second-round selection in the 2019 NFL Draft. But aside from Brown, Ryan Tannehill and the Titans offense lacked another truly reliable, playmaking target in the passing game.

Wide receiver Corey Davis was a top-five selection in 2017 but has failed to reach his potential in Tennessee, playing just one full season accumulating just shy of 900 yards and four touchdowns in 2018. Tight end Delanie Walker had battled through injuries frequently throughout his last few seasons with the Titans and is now set to leave in free agency.

Adam Humphries is a serviceable slot receiver and Jonnu Smith has shown flashes as a potentially productive pass catcher at the tight end position, but I think Tannehill could really benefit from another playmaker on the outside to go along with A.J. Brown.

The 2020 NFL Draft wide receiver class is arguably the deepest and most talented class we have ever seen. Starting quality receivers will likely be had in the mid to late rounds. There are many different types of receivers and tight ends in this draft, giving a team like the Tennessee Titans a plethora of pass-catching options.

Whether it is a tall, jump ball receiver like Antonio Gandy-Golden, another reliable route runner like Van Jefferson or a big-body pass-catching ‘tight end’ like Hunter Bryant, the Titans should take advantage of this deep class and give Tannehill another dynamic target in the 2020 NFL Draft.
