WR. 31. Scouting Report. Pick Analysis. Baylor. Denzel Mims. player. 45

Denver Broncos

The Denver Broncos are in desperate need of a second receiver behind Courtland Sutton and could be looking to add one in the first round of the draft. Last year was not one to remember for the Broncos receivers. Sutton was great, but there simply not much behind him.

Their second-best receiver was Emmanuel Sanders, who played in seven games for the team before getting traded to the San Francisco 49ers. Not including Sanders and Sutton there wasn’t a single receiver on the team with more than 30 catches or 300 yards.

With the possibility of Henry Ruggs and CeeDee Lamb going off of the board before their pick at 15, Denzel Mims could be a trade-down target for this team. I didn’t add Jerry Jeudy into this group as I believe they are looking for more of a downfield threat. While Jeudy is a great receiver, he is not an ideal fit for what they need.

The Broncos are in a great spot for Mims as they could trade up with their collection of draft picks back into the first round. They are currently holding one second and three third-round picks so the option to move up could be more appealing than moving down letting them attack a position of need at 15 as well.

Right now, I see the San Fransisco 49ers as a great trade partner as they are desperate for more 2020 NFL Draft capital. However, if they think they will lose the race for Mims to Green Bay, they could also attempt to move higher to someone like the Tennessee Titans at 29. I listed the Broncos as the first trade candidate as they have the best chance to move up or down in the draft to pursue Mims.
