These six teams should be looking to heavily target Denzel Mims in the 2020 NFL Draft.

Denzel Mims currently is projecting as a late first or early second-round 2020 NFL Draft pick and has been continuing to trend up draft boards and mocks. He has intangibles that cannot be taught such as his ability to go up for 50-50 balls and spot them at their high points. That being said, he is a raw talent and he has some work ahead of him as drops have proven to be a problem up to this point in his career.

Mims’ strengths include catching contested balls, speed, acceleration and blocking abilities. For a receiver of his size (6-foot-3, 207 pounds), he is primed to excel in the NFL. He put on a show at the Combine with a 4.38-second 40-yard dash, 6.6-second 3 cone drill, 131-inch broad jump and a 38.5-inch vertical jump.

The tape doesn’t lie on Mims, as he has a high upside. However, the easy catches are what stick out as a negative. It may be a problem of focus but he tends to catch the hard passes and drop much easier ones, this is something he will need to fix and in a hurry.

With the top receiver talent drained in free agency, there are a high number of teams ready to draft receivers early and often in the 2020 NFL Draft. In this breakdown, I evaluated teams that would be willing to pick Mims at their current position as well as teams that will be looking to trade up or down to select Mims.
