The Green Bay Packers are going with a total overhaul of their interior linebacker unit, as they let their two top tacklers inside walk in free agency. They did bring in veteran Christian Kirksey on a team-friendly deal, and while he adds some leadership to their defense, his injury history makes it risky to rely on him for an entire season.

That means adding talent in the 2020 NFL Draft is a must. Not unlike the wide receiver position, inside linebacker is another spot I could see the Green Bay Packers using a couple of picks on.

This linebacker class is pretty top-heavy and the talent really takes a nosedive after the first couple of rounds, but that’s not to say there aren’t a handful of players with the tools to surprise at the next level.

One such name is Justin Strnad out of Wake Forest. Strnad was voted team captain before the 2019 season after leading the Demon Deacons in tackles in 2018 but suffered a season-ending injury halfway through his final season.

Even with his collegiate career getting cut short, Strnad proved to have plenty of likable traits that could make him a potential sleeper target in the later rounds of the 2020 NFL Draft.

He has ideal size and pairs that with impressive athleticism that would make him an immediate option as a special-teamer, with the potential to work into a thin rotation with the Green Bay Packers early on.
