2020 NFL Draft: Late-Round targets for the Green Bay Packers
After the departure of Jimmy Graham, the Green Bay Packers’ top tight end targets are a nearly 36-year old Marcedes Lewis and former 2019 third-round pick, Jace Sternberger, who missed his entire rookie season due to injury, before finally debuting in the playoffs.
While Sternberger will certainly get his shot to prove his worth in his first healthy season with the Packers, I think the team absolutely needs to add another option to that unit in 2020.
Former Cincinnati Bearcat Josiah Deguara could be on the Packers radar for more than just tight end depth. Deguara is an undersized player for the position that could fill a versatile role as the team’s fullback or H-back option as well.
The 6-foot-2, 242-pound Deguara finished his career with the Bearcats with 92 receptions, 1,117 yards, and 12 touchdowns. He’s a natural athlete with good hands and plus ability as a run blocker that would make him a potential contributor right away in the Green Bay offense.
If Deguara is available any time after the fifth round of the 2020 NFL Draft, I could absolutely see the Packers adding a guy with his skillset with one of their three sixth-round picks.
