Southern Miss. Quez Watkins. 2. Combine Results. Pick Analysis. Wide Receiver . player. 49

It’s no secret that the wide receiver position in Green Bay is in desperate need of some more talent and the 2020 NFL Draft is the perfect place to find some help. Wide receiver is easily the deepest position group in this draft class, so Rodgers could get himself several new faces to throw to when it’s all said and done.

The need is so obvious that just about everybody is mocking a wide receiver to the Packers with their first pick at 30, but in such a deep class, it’s safe to say that won’t be where Green Bay stops adding help.

If (when) they are targeting another pass catcher late in the draft, a name that I love as a fit in Green Bay is Quez Watkins out of Southern Miss.

Watkins is a slot receiver prospect who flew onto radars after absolutely lighting it up at the 2020 NFL scouting combine. He ran a blazing 4.35 40-yard dash, finishing only behind Henry Ruggs III amongst the receivers, and looking natural catching the ball in the gauntlet drill.

His impressive showing shouldn’t come as too much of a surprise, as Watkins was the Golden Eagles go-to receiver the last two seasons, accumulating over 2,000 yards while reeling in 15 touchdowns.

Watkins’s speed and reliability are what Green Bay so desperately needs, so snagging him late in the 2020 NFL Draft could pay dividends sooner rather than later.
