The 2020 NFL Draft is still in line to take place in late April despite the COVID-19 pandemic. Here’s a first-round 2020 NFL mock draft with some surprising picks.

As of right now, assuming the COVID-19 pandemic doesn’t interfere with things, the 2020 NFL Draft is scheduled to take place from April 23-25. The NFL plans to go on with the 2020 NFL Draft without an audience and will broadcast the draft on live television from a studio setting.

Without fans around, however, there may be more time on-air for analysts to give more in-depth analysis for each team and pick. So while the 2020 NFL Draft itself may not be as exciting or have the normal electric atmosphere, fans could still end up benefitting at least a little bit if the television broadcast is done right.

In the 2020 NFL Draft, the Cincinnati Bengals hold the first overall pick and everyone assumes that they know what their pick will be. However, what if the Bengals go off script and surprise us all? It’s a possibility and crazier things have happened.

This mock draft explores that and what other dominos could fall should the Bengals not do the obvious come late April. Aside from the Bengals surprising everyone, this mock draft also features numerous first-round trades.

This mock also sees four quarterbacks go in the first round. Five offensive tackles are taken throughout the first 32 picks. On the defensive side of the ball, four cornerbacks and edge rushers are selected in the top round.

This draft was done on The Draft Network using their Mock Draft Machine. Signing up for their TDN Premium account will give the user the option to trade picks, which is how trades were made in this mock draft.
