A new city and a new opportunity. The Las Vegas Raiders have a chance to redefine themselves in the image of their new city with a plethora of 2020 NFL Draft assets.

A reimagined brand for the ‘Raider-way’ has a chance to be discovered under the bright lights of Las Vegas in 2020. Originally this opportunity was going to begin with the hosting of the 2020 NFL Draft but after concerns surrounding current events in the world, the event will be done remotely. The 2020 NFL Draft holds players who can bring a spark to their new units and potentially possesses star power throughout all seven rounds.

The Las Vegas Raiders finished their final season in California at an unimpressive 7-9, led by standout rookie running back Josh Jacobs. This offense has become a modern play-action based offense built around a powerful running game and one of the statistically best deep-ball quarterbacks in the NFL (according to Pro Football Focus).

Similarly to the Los Angeles Rams in their run to Super Bowl 53, their offense is built off of the run, and an overcommitment to that single facet of the offense creates holes in the secondary to be exploited by Derek Carr and company. During this offseason, the Las Vegas Raiders also added formed Philadelphia Eagles wideout Nelson Agholor and Dallas Cowboys legend Jason Witten.

The Raiders’ defense ranked 19th in yards per game and 24th in points per game in 2019, according to ESPN. Numerous additions along the front-seven will help shore-up current voids, but rookie supplements will be needed for a viable future.

Some of the free-agent signings to the defense include linebackers Cory Littleton and Nick Kwiatkoski, as well as safety Jeff Heath. If the Las Vegas Raiders are to improve on their time in Oakland, they need to play more complementary football than they have in the past. In this post, we are going seven rounds deep with the Las Vegas Raiders in a complete 2020 NFL mock draft. Let’s put together a strong draft class.
