2020 NFL Draft Late-Round Targets for the Arizona Cardinals
If you want a fast, gap shooting natural athlete at linebacker, then Akeem Davis-Gaither is your guy. Davis-Gaither is an undersized linebacker who is shot out of a cannon. His ability to cover ground is incredible and he has serious range.
He isn’t a guy that you’re going to have on the field for every play, solely because he doesn’t have the best block shedding skills or length, but he is someone who projects as a sub-package linebacker who is used as a rangy, “chase” linebacker who can get to any point on the field.
Leki Fotu is a strong interior defensive line prospect with heavy, powerful hands. He’s absolutely massive; weighing in at the combine at six-foot-five, three hundred and thirty pounds. He’s a force on the inside who is able to bull rush anyone smaller than him. The downside that comes with his size and strength, is quickness and flexibility.
He doesn’t have the best get-off and won’t be someone who can stop and turn very quickly. If the Cardinals select Fotu, it will most likely be with one of their fourth-round picks.
Trevon Hill is an athletically gifted pass rusher who has a quick get-off and good quickness. His pass rush ability will make him an attractive late round option for many teams; however, his run defending is a concern.
He will need to add some mass in the NFL to be able to stick; currently, he weighs around two hundred and thirty pounds; which isn’t big enough for an NFL edge. Additionally, he was dismissed from Virginia Tech after criticizing the coaching staff after a bad loss to Old Dominion in 2018, so that might raise some red flags for teams.
If Hill gets selected, it will be as a very late round pick who is drafted because of what he can be, not what he is. If the Arizona Cardinals want a developmental edge rusher who can learn behind one of the best in Chandler Jones, Hill might be their guy.
