2020 NFL Draft Late-Round Targets for the Arizona Cardinals
Dubbed the most versatile player in college football, Lynn Bowden has been electric his whole career. After starting his career at Kentucky as a wide receiver, Lynn Bowden became the starting quarterback in his last year after every quarterback on roster went down with injury.
Now, by no means is Bowden an NFL quarterback, what matters is that Kentucky viewed him as talented enough to play quarterback. Bowden has incredible athleticism that immediately shows up on his tape. Having played WR, QB and returner, Bowden is an ideal gadget player at the next level.
Seeing Bowden in Kliff Kingsbury air raid offense would be a fun thing to see, and chances are, there are some trick plays scripted for him to be the center of.
The thing about the air raid offense is that it needs a lot of weapons. Devin Asiasi has been, predominantly, a receiving tight end at UCLA. A fluid mover in the open field, Asiasi runs crisp routes and is dynamic with the ball in his hands. He hasn’t fully learned how to use his size to his advantage in contested situations, but that will come with practice.
Asiasi is a player who has immense upside and will be drafted as a developmental starter. If the Arizona Cardinals want to draft weapons, Asiasi is a guy they could look at.
I know, I said the Cardinals will most likely address offensive tackle early in the draft, but I also said that the players selected on day three are they guys who build depth. Alex Taylor is an offensive tackle who has incredible length, he has an 88-inch wingspan. Yes, EIGHTY-EIGHT INCHES.
Oh, and he’s also six-foot-six. His size is something that NFL teams will be drawn to. The downside is that he is a very raw player in terms of his on the field play. Taylor is someone who will be drafted very late with the idea of developing him into a solid backup at the position.
If the Arizona Cardinals want to invest the time to develop him, Taylor could be a guy they select late.
