Last year, the Baltimore Ravens selected Oklahoma wide receiver Marquise Brown in the first round of the 2019 NFL Draft and then followed that up by taking Notre Dame wide receiver Myles Boykin in the third. Brown played fairly well throughout most of the 2019 season despite dealing with a nagging injury. While Boykin on the other did admirably with the limited number of balls that were thrown his way.

With both Brown and Boykin appearing to be solid options for quarterback Lamar Jackson, the depth outside of those two is part of what made DeCosta mention they will take a receiver. Willie Snead is a fine slot option, but he is entering the final year of his contract. They also brought back special teams contributors Chris Moore and D’Anthony Thomas on short-term deals but both do not see many meaningful snaps on offense.

Tennessee wide receiver Jauan Jennings, despite some speed concerns, does have some nice qualities that would warrant a late-round draft selection. The big thing with Jennings both literally and figuratively is his physicality, showing the type of mentality dominate guys in one-on-one situations showing off his capable hands. Furthermore, he’s probably one of the better blockers amongst the receivers.

Now to most Baltimore Ravens fans, this may seem like a repeat of the Jaleel Scott pick a few years back. But to me, Jennings is a better version of Scott, offering a little bit more fluidity than he did.
