The Baltimore Ravens secondary currently consists of guys such as Earl Thomas, Marlon Humphrey, Marcus Peters and Jimmy Smith (whom they just re-signed to a one-year deal). To the average Ravens fan, the secondary may not be an obvious need for them, and in some cases may not even be worth addressing at all this off-season.

However, Smith is only back on a short-term deal, as is veteran special teams, ace Anthony Levine Sr. Additionally, the team parted ways with Tony Jefferson this offseason, and former sixth-round pick in Deshon Elliott can’t seem to break away from the injury bug. Given these circumstances, the Baltimore Ravens may look at day three of the 2020 NFL Draft as a time to fill out their secondary depth

Here’s where Temple’s defensive back Harrison Hand comes into play. Similar to Throckmorton, Hand may be subject to a position change once he enters the NFL and in Hand’s case, he will most likely switch to safety. Hand is a physical player with a willingness to tackle and looks comfortable in zone coverage. However, his lack of adequate footwork and tight hips may hinder his chances to play as an outside corner.

As Ryan Roberts, scouting coordinator at NFL Draft Bible pointed out to yours truly a while back, Hand bears a resemblance to former Baltimore Ravens defensive back Lardarius Webb. Both were a nickel/safety type of player who is fairly physical. I’m not saying Hand will be the next Webb, but his potential is worthy of that comparison.
