2020 NFL Draft: LSU players go early in two-round 2020 NFL mock draft
While the Eagles do need a wide receiver, cornerback is also a big need. The best player available of the two positions is TCU’s cornerback Jeff Gladney. Gladney is not only a very good coverage corner, but he also likes to help out in the run game as well. This could be a tough decision for Philadelphia, but it all depends on how the draft board falls.
Minnesota picked up this first-round pick when they traded Diggs to Buffalo, and while they lost two cornerbacks to free agency (Alexander/Waynes) and cut one (Rhodes) the best player on the board is an interior defensive lineman. They not only lost three cornerbacks but also let Linval Joseph and Everson Griffen go.
Javon Kinlaw would be a nice step in the right direction to filling those spots on the defensive line. He can be dominant in one on one situations and can move around the line. He’s very explosive and powerful, so I have no doubt he can come in right away and be productive.
This is really the biggest guess of them all. I really have no clue what New England and Belichick will do after moving on from Brady. For 20 years all the Patriots have known is Tom Brady and now they have to start fresh. Although, as a miserable Jets fan myself I have no doubt that Belichick will find his guy. If it is Jordan Love, then he’s getting a big-time quarterback prospect with a ton of potential.
The New Orleans Saints are pretty much a complete team. They finally have a legit number two receiver behind Michael Thomas with the signing of Emmanuel Sanders and they brought back guard Andrus Peat. So by taking Kenneth Murray in the 2020 NFL Draft, they pair him with one of the most underappreciated linebackers in the league, Demario Davis. The addition of Murray would help take the Saints’ defense to the next level.
Sticking with the best player available strategy, Minnesota takes Baylor wideout Denzel Mims to help fill the void of Stefon Diggs. This will give Cousins a big target with nice speed to throw to. They’ll have to address corner later in the draft.
