2020 NFL Draft: LSU players go early in two-round 2020 NFL mock draft
The Los Angeles Chargers have moved on from quarterback Philip Rivers after 16 seasons. They were in the Tom Brady sweepstakes but lost out to Tampa Bay. They did, however, land a Pro Bowl guard in Trai Turner and signed Bryan Bulaga to sure up the offensive line. Now they get their next franchise quarterback in the 2020 NFL Draft selecting Justin Herbert. He may need some time to groom into a starting quarterback, but they should be fine with Tyrod Taylor manning the starting position for the time being.
Well, the re-shaping of the Panthers have started after announcing that they’re working to trade Cam Newton they went ahead and gave Teddy Bridgewater a three-year deal to be their starting quarterback. They could still draft a quarterback later on in the draft, but I think they will build up the rest of the roster first.
Here they select Isaiah Simmons who is an athletic freak at the linebacker position. I have no clue how many snaps Simmons will play at linebacker, but they definitely need to fill that spot after Luke Kuechly retired. Simmons makes eye-popping plays every time you turn on his film.
Arizona made a huge splash last week when they landed top wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins without really giving up much. They got to keep the eighth pick in the 2020 NFL Draft and they’ll use that to select Mekhi Becton. Kyler Murray needs some protection on the line and Becton is very raw but has the potential to be a very good offensive tackle. I was tempted to give them CeeDee Lamb and make them an offensive juggernaut, but the right pick is an offensive lineman.
The Jaguars have traded seemingly everyone from their dominant defense and need start building that back up. Taking Derrick Brown who can dominate his opposition is a great start to that, as he helps replace veteran Calais Campbell.
The Browns already have a bunch of weapons for Baker Mayfield to play with and they did sign Jack Conklin to man the right tackle spot, but they could still use another lineman. Tristan Wirfs is a very athletic lineman that can play either guard or tackle spot. Whichever position he starts at, he’ll be a very solid plug and play starter.
