Despite their trade for Jurrell Casey and the re-signing of Mike Purcell, the Broncos still have a need on the defensive line for a potential 2020 starter.

Derek Wolfe and Shelby Harris, at this particular point in time, are still free agents.

As curious as that fact is, the Broncos have a current starting unit on the defensive line of:

  • Jurrell Casey
  • Dre’Mont Jones
  • Mike Purcell

That unit is capable of being the team’s top unit, but the Broncos probably need to sign at least another free agent and look to this draft class for a starter or key depth.

Justin Madubuike has experience playing a variety of positions on the defensive front, which is important to Vic Fangio’s defense, and he’s lightning quick with great strength and hand punch.

With Madubuike in the fold, the Broncos would have another penetrating interior lineman who could help this team wreak some havoc against the pass.
