The Broncos already have a true number one receiver in Courtland Sutton, and they are hoping that what they saw from DaeSean Hamilton at the end of the 2019 season was not a mirage, but there is an unquestionable need for speed at wide receiver in Denver.

Could anyone better fill that role in this draft than Henry Ruggs III out of Alabama?

The Broncos may not be able to hang at the 15th overall pick and still get Ruggs, but who knows?

One way or another, I think Ruggs is the team’s top target in the first round of this year’s draft.

If they have to trade up for him, the Broncos have the draft capital to do so.

Ruggs is a machine. He touched the ball 100 times in three seasons at Alabama and scored 25 touchdowns. Not only is he a monster after the catch, but Ruggs is also a very good route runner and he’s competitive at the catch point. This is not a typical track star turned receiver.

This guy is a football player.

Adding Ruggs to the offense would give the Broncos a core of:

QB: Drew Lock
RB: Melvin Gordon/Phillip Lindsay
WR: Courtland Sutton
WR: Henry Ruggs III
TE: Noah Fant

That’s not bad looking at all, and they have more picks to keep adding depth.
