To start things off, the Chicago Bears need help along the offensive line. Center Cody Whitehair just renegotiated his contract, and he’s been a stalwart on the interior since he was drafted back in 2017. James Daniels is slowly developing on the line, and he will secure one of the guard spots.

The Bears decide to fill out the interior by selecting Temple lineman Matt Hennessy. Hennessy played tackle in high school before moving inside in college. He played center in his final season with the Owls, but could easily shift over to guard in Chicago. His anchor and lower half are outstanding, and he will be a good pass protector for whoever starts at quarterback. Hennessy is also a solid athlete for the position and can get out in space.

The secondary is the other major area where the Bears need help. Outside of Kyle Fuller, there isn’t a sure thing at corner right now. Kevin Toliver is still someone to watch as far as developing into a full-time starter, but finding more help is necessary.

Enter Damon Arnette, who has gotten some first-round buzz this draft season. Some draft analysts out there have him as a top three corner in the 2020 NFL Draft. He made great strides in his senior season and looks the part of a good man-cover corner with great footwork and stickiness in coverage. Arnette can also be physical at the line of scrimmage. He’d be able to start right away on the boundary.
