2020 NFL Draft: Free agency, big trades shake up 2-round mock draft
After picking up Tua Tagovailoa and Austin Jackson earlier in the first round, the Dolphins complete their trio of picks in round one by getting the best interior lineman in the draft.
Cesar Ruiz is a young player but he’s experienced, smart, and NFL-ready in terms of his size and athleticism.
The Dolphins went out and spent some money on the line in free agency by bringing in right guard Ereck Flowers, a former Miami Hurricanes star who busted as a tackle with the New York Giants as a first-round pick and was resurrected with a position switch to guard.
Having Ruiz would give the Dolphins a nice young core up front with Austin Jackson at left tackle, Michael Dieter at left guard, Ruiz at center, and Flowers at right guard.
They could flip Julie’n Davenport to the right tackle if they want or they can continue to look for gems in this deep class of linemen for a new right tackle.
