2020 NFL Draft: Free agency, big trades shake up 2-round mock draft
The Minnesota Vikings had to shed at least a single tear as they watched so many high draft picks walk out the door this offseason.
Former first-round pick Trae Waynes left for the Cincinnati Bengals for $14 million per season. Former second-round pick Mackensie Alexander left for a short contract to join him there.
Another former first-round pick — Xavier Rhodes — was a cap casualty.
The Vikings had to franchise tag Anthony Harris just so Harrison Smith wasn’t the only guy who played more than 50 percent of the snaps coming back for the 2020 season.
Jeff Gladney is one of the most underrated cornerback prospects in this draft class, perhaps because he played last season with a meniscus injury. It didn’t seem to slow him down all that much, though.
Gladney is tough, physical, instinctive player who has a nasty, aggressive play style. Defensive coaches are probably going to be banging the table for this guy.
