2020 NFL Draft: Free agency, big trades shake up 2-round mock draft
The Cleveland Browns broke the bank in free agency for right tackle Jack Conklin. As much as they paid him, they could potentially switch him to the left side similar to what the Raiders did last year with Trent Brown moving to the right side.
Conklin is getting $14 million per season, and the Browns also added Austin Hooper, who has plenty of experience blocking in a similar scheme to what will be run by new head coach Kevin Stefanski.
With those two pieces in place, the Browns still need to make some more improvements on the offensive line, and Mekhi Becton is one of the most intriguing players in this class.
For a tackle prospect, there is really nothing about Becton that’s not to like at this point in his development. His physical tools are absolutely other-worldly for a man that is 360-plus pounds.
His natural gifts alone make him almost impossible to get around. How do you rush against this guy? You can’t just go around him. You can’t go through him. You have to find creative ways to get past him, which is why many feel he might be the best overall tackle in the 2020 NFL Draft class.
With that said, everyone has their flavor that they like, and if the Browns could get him at 10 overall, they’d probably be pinching themselves.
