2020 NFL Draft: Five late-round sleeper targets for Los Angeles Rams
1
Trey Adams OT
At one point in his career, Trey Adams was thought to be a top-tier tackle prospect. Unfortunately, injury problems and questions about his athleticism have really hurt his draft stock over the last year or two. After earning second-team All-American honors in 2016, Adams missed 15 total games between 2017 and 2018 before finally putting together a full season his senior year.
While all of the concerns are certainly warranted, Adams does have some really likable traits as a pass protector if he can keep healthy. I can see him being an immediate swing-tackle option at the next level and the Los Angeles Rams just so happen to need depth badly at that position. They currently have 38-year-old Andrew Whitworth manning the left side, and Rob Havenstein on the right, who has had rumors circulating that he could be a trade candidate this offseason.
Barring a significant signing in free agency, I wouldn’t be surprised to see the Los Angeles Rams dip their toes into the tackle pool a couple of times in the 2020 NFL Draft, and Adams could be a name to look out for when we reach rounds five and beyond.
