Without a first-round pick in the 2020 NFL draft, the Los Angeles Rams will hope to find some late-round sleepers. Here are five names to keep an eye on.

The Los Angeles Rams haven’t had a first-round pick since trading up to get Jared Goff back in 2016, where they gave the Titans six total draft picks, including their 2017 first-rounder, to move up to the top spot. Then, in 2018, the Rams again traded their first-round pick, this time to the Patriots for wide receiver, Brandin Cooks. They traded out of the first round in 2019, sending the 31st overall pick to the Atlanta Falcons in a trade-down scenario.

Here we are a year later and it’s the same old story, as the Los Angeles Rams traded away, not just their 2020 first-rounder, but their 2021 pick as well, after making a deal with the Jacksonville Jaguars for Jalen Ramsey back in October. Barring a trade up in the next two drafts, the Rams will go five straight seasons without a first-round pick.

Their obvious disinterest in collecting blue-blood talent at the top of the NFL draft makes it all the more important for them to land on the rest of their selections. LA is currently slated to have six picks this year, with their first selection not coming until the 52nd overall selection. While they have had success in the middle rounds the last few years, the same cannot be said about the latter half of the draft.

Over the last four years, the Los Angeles Rams have made 17 selections in rounds five through seven and six of those players are no longer on the team. In fact, only one of those draft picks has even made a notable impact with the Rams thus far (Sebastian Joseph-Day).

That lack of success late in the draft is troubling for a team that is choosing to pass on the top talents and trusting their scouts to find gems later on. If the Rams are going to get back on track and prove that their strategy is working, they have got to find some late-round sleepers in 2020.

Luckily for LA, the 2020 NFL Draft class is loaded with talent, so there should be some notable names on the board down the stretch. Here are a few Los Angeles Rams late-round 2020 NFL Draft sleeper targets to get to know as we near the festivities.
