Round Five: Francis Bernard, LB, Utah

Coming into the offseason my main pick for Jacksonville was Clemson’s Isaiah Simmons. But after the signing of Joe Schobert in free agency linebacker is not necessarily a day one need anymore. However, I do think the Jaguars need to add some sort of depth at the position to compliment Schobert and Myles Jack.

Insert Utah Ute Francis Bernard, a player that is one of the most intelligent and instinctive players in this entire draft. He will not blow anybody away with his range, or speed, or tackling ability, but with his high football IQ and being a captain in the middle of the defense.

Round Five: Darius Anderson, RB, Texas Christian University (TCU)

Darius Anderson is the perfect compliment to Leonard Fournette. Fournette is more of a downhill powerful runner that can be used to gain chunk first downs, and near the goal line.

Anderson’s perfect role in this offense would be a primary receiving back with the ability to change the pace of the game out of the backfield. I love the tandem and difference of style him and Fournette would bring to the table in this offense.

Round Six: Steven Montez, Quarterback, Colorado

The Jaguars traded Nick Foles to Chicago and now it is Minshew Mania full time in Jacksonvile. But, Gardner needs a backup in case he gets injured. Steven Montez is a strong armed QB with questionable mechanics but can possibly develop into a decent backup quarterback in the NFL.

Round Six: Jon Runyan, Offensive Tackle, Michigan

All about depth with this pick, the Jaguars have glaring needs all across the offensive line and gain a player in Runyan who started every game at left tackle in 2018. Someone who at the very least will be a developmental tackle and rotational depth piece in Jacksonville.

Round Seven: Juwan Johnson, Wide Receiver, Oregon

Another big bodied receiver that I think should be getting talked about more in the later rounds than he is. He is not the best route runner or skilled receiver, but his big and long frame allows him to keep defenders away from his catch radius to make plays. A potential big bodied threat for Gardner Minshew and the offense down the line.
