Cleveland Browns 7-round 2020 NFL mock draft after big FA signings
After the release of Morgan Burnett and with Damarious Randall likely to leave the Cleveland Browns in free agency, the team really needs to bring in two new starting safeties. At the strong safety spot vacated by Burnett, there are a couple of very nice, small school options that were available at this selection in the third round.
These guys, Kyle Dugger and Jeremy Chinn, are both very similar players. Very athletic players with a ton of promise that will play in and around the box at the next level. Both showed out throughout their collegiate careers against lower levels of NCAA competition and will be looking to prove that they belong with the big boys in the league.
Both players are still very raw at this point and both put on impressive showings at the combine. When I watch the tape, Dugger just seems a little bigger, more physical and better equipped to fill the true strong safety role at the next level.
Both are great options for the Browns, in addition to a few other guys like Ashtyn Davis, Brandon Jones and Julian Blackmon who are also solid strong safety prospects for Cleveland in the third or fourth round. I wouldn’t be surprised at all if the Cleveland Browns used multiple 2020 Draft picks to address their glaring needs at safety.
Once regarded as a possible first-round pick, Wisconsin center Tyler Biadasz has been tumbling down draft boards over the last few months. While is tape this season after hip surgery was not as impressive as in years past, Biadasz has the potential to be a real steal at this point in the draft if put in the right situation.
Wisconsin has a reputation for putting out quality NFL offensive linemen, and Biadasz was one of the best in program history. Even for the 2019 season where evaluators are expressing regression, he was still given the Remington Award as the nation’s best center and was a first-team All American.
Biadasz is a great leader who led an offensive line that guided their running back to one of the best careers in college football history. He is scheme versatile with the ability to move, which works well in Kevin Stefanski’s zone run offense.
Obviously the Browns don’t have a need for a center at the present time with newly voted President of the NFLPA J.C. Tretter slated to be the starter, but I believe Biadasz could start at right guard right away.
Surrounded by high-level talent on both sides of him in Tretter and Conklin, Biadasz should develop well and possibly become a long-term staple on the interior of the Cleveland Browns offensive line.
The last Badger lineman drafted by the Browns? A guy by the name of Joe Thomas. Now, no one is expecting Biadasz to fill those shoes, but he could definitely become a solid NFL player, worthy of a late third-round pick.
With the signing of Conklin, the selection of Andrew Thomas in the first round and with Tretter and Joel Bitonio already in place, the Cleveland Browns will finally have a complete and competitive offensive line to help Baker Mayfield and Nick Chubb dominate on offense.
