Now that we know he is not returning to Foxborough, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers stand out as the best landing spot for Tom Brady.

Well, the second day of NFL free agency certainly started off with a bang. Legendary New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady announced that he will be moving on this offseason. After spending the first 20 years of his career with the Patriots, Brady will play the 2020 season with another franchise. Man, it is going to be weird seeing him in another uniform.

While we still do not know where Brady is going to end up, there are still only a few logical landing spots for him to land. The Las Vegas Raiders and Los Angeles Chargers are known to have some interest. I would also not be surprised to see a team like the Chicago Bears or Indianapolis Colts make a run at him. However, in my eyes, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers stand out as the perfect landing spot for Tom Brady.

For starters, the Bucs have put together a wide receiver duo of Mike Evans and Chris Godwin that is the best in the NFL. Both Evans and Godwin are special playmakers on the outside who would be the best receivers that Brady has played with in years. Also, we all know how much Brady loves his tight ends. In Cameron Brate and O.J. Howard, the Buccaneers have two talented and reliable targets at the position who could quickly become major targets for Brady in the passing game.

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers do not have an elite-level offensive line, but there is enough to work with at the position. If they can get a bit lucky and have one of the top-tier tackles in the 2020 NFL Draft fall to them at No. 14, the Bucs would suddenly have a solid unit that could give Brady enough time to find his exciting new targets.

Tom Brady is not a perfect fit for Bruce Arians’ offensive system. Arians loves to chuck the ball down the field and move the ball with the vertical passing game. Brady does not have as strong of an arm as he once did, but he can still push the ball downfield a bit. He is typically not the kind of quarterback that Arians looks for, but the Bucs head coach is a smart offensive mind who would adjust his system to Brady’s strengths. This is not a concern.

If he decides that he wants to play in a bigger market, teams like the Raiders, Chargers or Bears could make sense. I could also easily see the appeal of the Colts for him. However, if he bases his decision on football reasons alone, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers stand out as the best fit for Tom Brady.
