Scouting Report. Missouri. Yasir Durant. player. 822. Pick Analysis. IOL. 5

Did I mention you can never have too many offensive lineman? Anyway, the Minnesota Vikings will support that claim by continuing to add depth to the line. The Vikings desperately desire depth and a new potential starter at the guard position.

Current guards Josh Kline and Pat Eflein both struggled last year with under 65.0 PFF grades. Just imagine what Dalvin Cook could do if the production surrounding him vastly increased.

Yasir Durant is a walking anchor at over 6-foot-7 330 pounds. Had a solid junior year as he only allowed eight quarterback pressures. He finishes his blocks with tenacity and possesses enough drive to push defenders back. His beefy frame and polished feet will ultimately bulk up that support for the Minnesota Vikings zone-run scheme.

Pick Analysis. LB. Minnesota. 6. Scouting Report. Kamal Martin. player. 852

The linebacker core for the Vikings needs to add depth behind Eric Kendricks and Anthony Barr. The group’s foundation quickly became tainted when just one of those two got hurt. Additionally, Will linebacker, Ben Gedeon, does not seem to be the answer and only started five games due to injury. The rushing defense for the team wasn’t atrocious, but it wasn’t proficient either as they gave up over 200 yards on the ground against the Seattle Seahawks. Ouch.

Linebacker Kamal Martin from the University of Minnesota doesn’t have to move far from his current home in this mock. Martin is a hard-hitting linebacker who created some turnovers through the ground and air during his tenure in college. Martin does lack in coverage and ability to reach the quarterback. He tends to make up for it with his extraordinary length (34-inch arms) and displays a pleasant downhill playing style as he maneuvers well through tight space.

Scouting Report. QB. Oregon State. Jake Luton. Pick Analysis. 7. player. 832

Kirk Cousins was recently rewarded with trust and a two-year contract extension. He is the long-term guy for the Minnesota Vikings going forward but who says they can’t start to look for options beyond that?

Jake Luton is a decent player with a high football IQ who could get behind Cousins and develop into at least a solid backup in the NFL. In 2019, he completed over 60 percent of his 358 attempts for 2,714 yards and 28 touchdowns, giving up only three interceptions.
