Minnesota Vikings receiver, Stefon Diggs, finally got his long-awaited wish of a trade after a frustrating final season. He is now going to Buffalo. In exchange, the Vikings received a haul of capital in the 2020 NFL Draft. Let’s see how they utilize the newly acquired ammo in this seven-round mock draft.

Late last night, the Minnesota Vikings agreed to send Stefon Diggs and a seventh-round pick to the Buffalo Bills in exchange for a first-round pick, a fifth-round pick, and a sixth-round pick in 2020 as well as a fourth-round pick in 2021. This is obviously a lot more than the Texans got for a less threatening weapon. You got to give at least some credit to the Vikings front-office for not making a similar mistake.

The Minnesota Vikings only own a measly $12.5M in cap space. So it’s no surprise to see them going the draft route this offseason. As of this writing, the Minnesota Vikings possess a generous 11 selections in the 2020 NFL Draft. Holes are starting to form on the roster and they’ll need to address them quickly if they want to continue to succeed in the NFC North. With such limited cap space, a huge majority of their major offseason additions must come through the draft.

The Minnesota Vikings continue to be a competitive team in the NFL. Unfortunately, they continue to come up short late in the playoffs. Perhaps giving up a quality player to bring in a plethora of cheap, young talent is something they need to rise to the top.

How can the Vikings continue to build the offense around Kirk Cousins while also taking care of their defensive needs? Let’s take a look at how head coach Mike Zimmer and general manager Rick Spielman should attack with their newly acquired resources in Las Vegas. Here is a complete seven-round 2020 NFL mock draft for the new-look Minnesota Vikings.
