The Miami Dolphins have been handing out big-time paychecks in the early goings of free agency. What will they do in the 2020 NFL Draft?

The Miami Dolphins are making it rain in South Beach in the 2020 free agent negotiating period.

Armed with plenty of cap space and ample 2020 NFL Draft flexibility, the Dolphins put together a free agency plan of attack and they have been excelling.

They signed Byron Jones to a record five-year, $82.5 million contract to pair with Xavien Howard.

They signed former Miami Hurricanes offensive lineman and first-round bust turned breakout player Ereck Flowers to a three-year, $30 million contract.

They have bolstered the defensive front seven by signing linebacker Kyle Van Noy and edge defenders Shaq Lawson and Emmanuel Ogbah to multi-year contracts.

Brian Flores is building something. The Dolphins overachieved in 2019 by winning five games, which doesn’t sound like much but there were people who legitimately thought the Dolphins would only win two games or less. Flores’ impressive work with a roster that was so badly depleted from trades and cap casualties.

Now, they’re building the team for him.

Although the Dolphins don’t have the allure of a franchise quarterback in place, they still have Ryan Fitzpatrick to hold down the fort before a rookie quarterback comes into the fray. How can the Dolphins attack the 2020 NFL Draft after having paid so much money to upgrade the defense?

Let’s look at the Dolphins’ top six picks in the 2020 NFL Draft (three rounds) and a way they can truly upgrade the offensive side of the ball for years to come.
