Post-free agency first-round mock

The Dolphins won’t likely only make four major moves in free agency, but imagine if they were able to make those moves heading into the 2020 NFL Draft.

They would be set up perfectly to maneuver around the board however they see fit.

Let’s look at a draft scenario that would go perfectly with this potential primary free agent haul.

1a. Tua Tagovailoa, QB, Alabama

This one is kind of a given, although the Dolphins may have taken a liking to Justin Herbert and Jordan Love as well as Tagovailoa.

Still, if Tua is cleared for football activity, he’s the most dynamic presence at the position among those three guys.

1b. AJ Epenesa, DE, Iowa

Although Epenesa’s value seems diminished by his Scouting Combine performance, what he put on film is too good to let slide that far.

Right?

Epenesa is probably the quintessential Patriots-type on the defensive line, and Brian Flores will be able to get the most out of him playing as a base defensive end and kicking inside in nickel situations at times.

1c. Cesar Ruiz, C, Michigan

After signing Joe Thuney in this hypothetical situation, the Dolphins get the top interior line prospect in the 2020 NFL Draft class.

2a. Ezra Cleveland, OT, Boise State

The Dolphins continue to revamp their offensive line with the ultra-athletic Ezra Cleveland, who needs some time to develop but would have to learn on the fly and take his lumps as a rookie starter.

2b. Josh Uche, EDGE, Michigan

The Dolphins need more juice off the edge, and they could use Uche immediately in 2020 as a nickel rusher while developing him into a full-time starter down the line.
