Melvin Gordon, running back, Los Angeles Chargers

The Miami Dolphins are about to bring in a young quarterback to take the reins of the organization, and Melvin Gordon could be a young quarterback’s best friend.

Not only is Gordon able to grind out tough yardage as a featured back, but he’s a capable three-down back who can eat up receptions.

Gordon has also been one of the best in the NFL over the last four years at putting the ball in the end zone. He has 47 touchdowns in the last four seasons.

The Dolphins traded away Kenyan Drake last year, and while it looks like they didn’t quite get appropriate value for the type of player Drake is, they have a chance to really upgrade the position this offseason through free agency and the NFL Draft.

They have money to spend, and Gordon is looking to cash in on what could be his only major free agent contract.
