Denver Broncos 2020 mock draft: 11 picks to build roster depth
Would the Broncos really go with a wide receiver for their top two picks?
It may be a stretch, but look at the possible value this pick would present.
The Broncos have struggled badly to score points since the 2014 season. That’s five straight seasons of poor offensive production, and a major reason for that is quarterback play and a lack of true weapons on that side of the ball.
The Broncos traded Emmanuel Sanders last year and Demaryius Thomas the year before that. Courtland Sutton has emerged as a true number one threat, and while taking two receivers like Jefferson and Shenault seems like overkill on the surface, it’s really not.
While Jefferson could be the team’s primary slot player, Shenault can flex to just about any position offensively, and he did in his time at Colorado. He’s a monster after the catch and even if you have to project his route running a bit, he could be the Broncos’ version of Deebo Samuel in 2020.
Adding Jefferson and Shenault to Courtland Sutton and Noah Fant would give the Broncos a dynamic group of young playmakers for Drew Lock to get the ball to.
