With a need for young talent, even the #12 pick isn’t enough to find a new cornerstone for Las Vegas Raiders football, but a trade could change that.

Derek Carr and Josh Jacobs need help to reignite the ‘Raider way.’ Jon Gruden is in place to make a run at the postseason in 2020 with the right pieces, and make progress towards contention with divisional rival and reigning super bowl champion Kansas City Chiefs. One step towards success is going to be adding young talent to this roster that can make an impact on their inexpensive rookie contracts.

In Las Vegas’s incoming championship window, they will not only need their current stars to continue their production but need new young talent to complement those stars and come into their own as playmakers in multiple position groups. The 2020 NFL draft gives a variety of options within the first round who can become bonified stars and some options with a trade in to the top ten that could change the franchise from day one.

As seen in the Las Vegas Raiders team needs article, the majority of this team’s needs come at positions which house some of the big playmakers in the game. A wide receiver is an obvious star-producing position that could inherit the number one spot on the depth chart.

Directly across from the forementioned position is a position group that has a variety of players filling different playstyles in the 2020 NFL Draft, providing a base to build a defensive secondary from. Finally, the linebacker position may not be as flashy as the two mentioned previously but is still the middle of the defense and a player that commands attention.

The final position of defensive tackle does not command the same attention as the previous three but is the power of the defense and sets a tone for the defensive line as well as the run defense. A top-tier defensive tackle can also be an important factor in the pass rush.
