Combine. Pick Analysis. 6. player. EDGE. Tulsa. Trevis Gipson. 57

Career Stats (39 games): 114 total tackles (25.5 for loss), 13 sacks, 8 forced fumbles, 3 passes defended
2019 Stats (12 games): 49 total tackles (15 for loss), 8 sacks, 2 forced fumbles

The Chicago Bears may end up moving on from edge rusher Leonard Floyd this offseason to save some cap space. Even if they end up keeping Floyd around, they could still use some depth at the position. In the sixth round of this 2020 NFL mock draft, they shoot for some edge rusher upside with the selection of Trevis Gipson out of Tulsa.

Gipson is a long and athletic edge rusher who has obvious upside as a speed rusher on the outside. He is quick off of the ball and shows impressive flexibility at the position. Gipson is a raw talent who needs to become a more well-rounded player, but he is an interesting prospect who is worth taking a chance on here.

Alabama. Shyheim Carter. 829. S. 7. player. Combine. Pick Analysis

Career Stats (34 games): 100 total tackles (6 for loss), 18 passes defended, 3 interceptions, 2 touchdowns, 2 forced fumbles
2019 Stats (12 games): 43 total tackles (2.5 for loss), 7 passes defended, 1 interception, 1 forced fumble

Shyheim Carter is a tough, physical and relatively athletic safety prospect who tackles well in space and shows nice ability in zone coverage. He has upside as an in-the-box safety at the next level and will provide immediate special teams value. The Chicago Bears find themselves a rock-solid football player in the seventh round of this 2020 NFL mock draft.

7. South Carolina State. Alex Taylor. player. 57. Combine. Pick Analysis. OT

The Bears’ starting offensive tackle duo of Charles Leno and Bobby Massie left plenty to be desired last season. They are both decent starting-caliber players, but the Bears would be wise to consider finding a potential upgrade at the position.

Alex Taylor is an extremely raw offensive tackle prospect, but he has an impressive combination of athleticism and length that will get the attention of NFL scouts. Taylor will not be ready to come in and contribute right away, but he has the physical skill-set to grow into an impressive offensive tackle at the next level. He is undoubtedly worth a seventh-round investment.
