Chicago Bears find potential franchise QB in 7-round 2020 NFL mock draft
Career Stats (35 games): 92 receptions for 1,117 yards and 12 touchdowns
2019 Stats (13 games): 39 receptions for 504 yards and 7 touchdowns
After making two second-round selections, the Chicago Bears do not make another pick until this fifth round of this 2020 NFL mock draft. The Bears lacked quality depth at tight end last season and it hurt them throughout the year. They need to invest in the position going forward and while a fifth-round pick does not solve all of their issues, Josiah Deguara is a good football player who can make an impact for the team.
Deguara is a tough and physical player on the inside who shows obvious run blocking ability. He moves well in space and is powerful at the point of attack. Deguara is not the most dynamic athlete, but he can separate a bit as a receiver and shows soft hands. He is never going to become a star offensive playmaker, but Deguara is a rock-solid player who could provide solid immediate and long-term value for the Chicago Bears.
Career Stats (40 games): 147 total tackles (5.5 for loss), 21 passes defended, 6 interceptions, 2 forced fumbles, 1 touchdown
2019 Stats (13 games): 49 total tackles (1 for loss), 5 passes defended, 1 interception
A.J. Green is a quick and athletic cornerback prospect who shows tremendous coverage upside on the outside. He shows good upside as a man and zone defender and has great natural ball skills. Green lacks ideal functional strength and that could obviously be an issue for him at the next level. That being said, he is clearly worth the investment in the sixth round. Strong value selection for the Chicago Bears here in this 2020 NFL mock draft.
