2. Sign Joe Thuney, OG, New England Patriots

Although Jack Conklin fills one big hole on the Jets’ offensive line, they have more than one need up front to fill through free agency.

The Jets signing offensive guard Joe Thuney would give them two Pro Bowl additions on the offensive line in probably a matter of days, and this would also mean stealing from a division rival, an added bonus.

It can’t be overstated how important protecting Sam Darnold is. If the Jets are going to have success as a team, Darnold needs to be healthy, upright, and able to work from a clean pocket.

Thuney can help accomplish that.

Just like Conklin, Thuney is going to have multiple suitors in free agency including the Miami Dolphins, another division rival of the Patriots with former coaching ties that could help attract Thuney.

With that said, the Jets can really open up the bank for Thuney and Conklin to bring some stability to the line before heading to the 2020 NFL Draft, where they would be able to further fortify that unit.
