New Orleans Saints snag LSU star in 7-round 2020 NFL mock draft

The New Orleans Saints kick off this seven-round 2020 NFL mock draft by bringing in a local star in the first round.

Another season and another disappointing end for the New Orleans Saints. The Saints were one of the most dominant teams in the NFL through the regular season, finishing the year with a 13-3 record. However, they were unlucky to be a three seed in the postseason, meaning that they had to play on Wild Card Weekend.

Due to an iffy non-pass interference call on the game-winning touchdown, the Saints fell to the Minnesota Vikings in overtime at home in the Wild Card Round. For the third year in a row, the New Orleans Saints finished the season with a ridiculously tough postseason loss. This is undoubtedly a talented team, but they continue to get unlucky breaks at the end of important games.

With a 41-year-old Drew Brees leading the way, the New Orleans Saints must look to make the most out of their talented roster and get another Super Bowl championship before it’s too late. The Saints have run into some tough luck, but if we are being honest, they should have easily taken care of business against the Vikings at home in their most recent playoff loss.

Wide receiver, interior offensive line, linebacker and cornerback currently stand out as the most obvious positions of need for the Saints. It will also be interesting to see if New Orleans looks to find a long-term answer at the quarterback position this offseason. With free agency right around the corner, these needs could change quickly. That being said, until we see free agency play out, these positions stand out as clear draft needs for this team.
