Pick Analysis. Penn State. Yetur Gross-Matos. 19. player. Scouting Report. 28. Edge

Last year’s number four overall pick Clelin Ferrell is already proving that the Raiders made a big mistake taking him so high. Maxx Crosby turned out to be a pleasant surprise, but they still need edge rushers.

Yetur Gross-Matos would be a solid value pick here. He has excellent tools with a big frame (6-foot-5, 264 pounds), long arms, and good athleticism. His best attribute is how well he uses his hands. He wins many pass rushes by tossing the opposing lineman’s arms off of him to the outside and then going inside to create pressure. He is also good against the run because he wins many leverage battles with his strength and hand usage.

Gross-Matos can line up at multiple positions along the defensive line. He primarily plays at five-technique but he also has taken snaps at three-tech and on the nose. He also has experience dropping into coverage. He will primarily be used on the edge rushing the passer in the NFL, but it’s good that he has the versatility to line up all over the defensive line or drop into coverage.

Scouting Report. Pick Analysis. Henry Ruggs. player. 52. WR. Alabama. 20

As I mentioned earlier, the Jaguars’ biggest priority should be adding pieces around Gardner Minshew to make his life a little easier. In this scenario, they get great value as Henry Ruggs could easier go high teens. Even though he’s definitely talented enough to go higher than this, I am projecting for some receivers to fall a bit in the first round just because of how good and deep the class is.

Henry Ruggs is so fast it seems like he has a jet pack attached to him when he runs. There’s no question that he can become a very dangerous deep threat, but the main question with him is whether he can be a consistent, high volume type of receiver in the NFL.

The most catches Ruggs ever had in a season at Alabama was 46, but that is also because Alabama was loaded with receiving talent around him. While I don’t think Ruggs will ever be an 80 or 90 plus catch kind of receiver he still has the type of speed that makes you change your game plan to account for.
