Pick Analysis. player. 13. 46. Scouting Report. QB. Utah State. Jordan Love

After last season, it’s hard to believe that the Colts have much faith in Jacoby Brissett moving forward. At No. 13, they’re probably not going to be able to draft a quarterback capable of starting right away, but they can draft a project quarterback and develop him behind Brissett. Jordan Love is most definitely a project and is a good fit with the Colts because he won’t be thrown into the fire right away. They would give him the time he needs to develop.

Love is a very high volatile quarterback. One play he’ll look like superman and the next he’ll throw a pick. According to Pro Football Focus, this season he had 31 big-time throws and 26 turnover worthy plays. He has good size (6-foot-4, 225 pounds), athleticism, and incredible arm strength. His struggles are his accuracy (61.9 completion %) and decision making (17 interceptions).

This would absolutely be a risky pick, but this could be the Colts’ best bet to find a franchise quarterback without giving up future picks.

14. player. Scouting Report. S. LSU. Grant Delpit. 48. Pick Analysis

Tampa Bay could try to find a replacement for Jameis Winston in the draft, but I think it’s much more likely they’ll sign or trade for a veteran quarterback this offseason. Despite Winston’s 30 interception season, the Buccaneers’ biggest problem is their defense which gave up 28.1 points per game, which is 29th in the NFL, according to NFL.com.

Their current safety situation with none of Andrew Adams, Mike Edwards, or Jordan Whitehead grading in the top 62 out of 86 qualified safeties this season, according to Pro Football Focus. Grant Delpit would undoubtedly be a big upgrade over any safety currently on the roster.

Grant Delpit won the Jim Thrope award this season, which is given to the best defensive back in the country. Although he is a great player many thought that either his teammate Derek Stingley or Ohio State’s Jeff Okudah should have won.

Delpit’s best season came in 2018 where he recorded 74 tackles, 9.5 tackles for loss, five sacks, nine passes defended, and five interceptions. While box score scouting isn’t a good method, I think this shows how versatile of a player he is.

He can play near the line of scrimmage and can play deep. He is outstanding in coverage and can also be used as a blitzer. He has good instincts and always seems to diagnose if it’s a run or a pass quickly. Delpit also flies to the football with good speed.

The biggest weakness in Delpit’s game is missed tackles. He has had some bad plays this season where he’s taken some horrible angles on ball carriers and allowed big plays. For Delpit to become the level of player he’s capable of becoming he has to cut down on his mistakes.
