Third Round

3. player. 892. Pick Analysis. Offensive Tackle. Scouting Report. UConn. Matthew Peart

As mentioned earlier, the New York Jets are high on Chuma Edoga, however, it would be foolish to not bring in competition for the right tackle spot. Whether that’s by bringing in a veteran or in this case drafting one on day two.

UConn tackle Matthew Peart has the much-needed length to play tackle at the next level as well as the mobility to stick with rushers off the edge. He’ll likely need some time to develop but could still push for the starting right tackle spot.

Bradlee Anae. player. 843. Scouting Report. Pick Analysis. Edge Rusher. Utah. 3

When you look at key positions in football an edge rusher seems to be overlooked by some teams especially the New York Jets. They haven’t had a player coming off the edge that imposed any real threat since John Abraham. Not to mention Jordan Jenkins, who’s improved every season, is set to become a free agent.

Bradlee Anae also has been overlooked in the pre-draft process, but I believe he could be a draft-day steal here in the third round. He has been categorized as a high motor guy who gets “effort” sacks. People knock effort sacks because they don’t win with their pass rush moves or talent, but by having a relentless motor.

I’m a big fan of Anae and a big part of why is due to his high motor. I love players that never take plays off and always fight to the whistle. Those guys shouldn’t be knocked, but rather praised. I believe he could produce right away under Gregg Williams’ tutelage.
